Our country implemented a series of laws on the field of labor relations in2008.Is the effect of the implementation of these laws as expected? To clarify the impact of labor relations protection on gender discrimination in wage and social insurance benefits,it will provide a useful reference for the state toaccurately grasp the policy tilt and improve the labor relationscoordination mechanism in formulating the policy of labor relations protection.Based on CGSS(2005,2006,2010,2013)four-stage micro-data,making use of gender wage gap and gender social insurance rate gap as the measure of gender discrimination in wage and social insurance benefits,this article analyzes the impact of labor relations protection on gender discrimination in wage and social insurance benefits comprehensively using quantile regression and Probit regression model.The empirical study shows that: First,on the whole,labor relations protection improveswage,medical insurance and endowment insurance rate of the workers,but widens the gender wage gap of the workers in the higher wage level.Second,for theworkers of junior high school and following education,labor relations protection significantly expandsgender gap of average monthwage and average hourwagein the upper level;for theworkers of high school education,labor relations protection significantly widensgender gap of average monthwage and average hourwagein thelower level;for theworkers of collegeand above education,labor relations protection significantly expandsgender gap of average monthwage and average hourwagein the upper level.Thirdly,relative to state-owned enterprises,labor relations protection significantly expands gender gap of wage in the high-wage level of workers in private enterprises.Therefore,the government should grasp the policy tilt and formulate rationalstandards of labor relations protection;focus on popularizinguniversal education and vigorously carrying out pre-service skills training;determine the main part to share responsibility diversely and achieve balance of responsibility distributionhierarchically.
