With the sustainable development of China's economy,China's energy demand has been increasing and energy consumption has been ranked first in the world.At the same time,unreasonable use of energy and the lack of domestic energy supply lead to China's energy shortage and environmental problems becoming more serious.Under this background,China attaches greater importance to solve the problem of low energy efficiency in a variety of ways,and technological progress is the most fundamental way to improve energy efficiency.Technological progress can change the way of energy utilization to optimize the energy consumption structure and improve energy efficiency.A country can increase investment in domestic research and education to enhance the ability of independent innovation,but also obtains advanced technology to enhance the level of technology by the technology spillover of other countries.Enterprises can obtain advanced technology from foreign countries through foreign direct investment,and this paper from this aspect cut into the study of China's OFDI reverse technology spillover on the role of the improvement of energy efficiency.Firstly this paper analyzes the results of previous studies on OFDI reverse technology spillover and energy efficiency,and then analyzes the current situation of OFDI and energy utilization in China,and summarizes the characteristics and problems of China's foreign direct investment and energy utilization.Then this paper describes three stages of the operating mechanism of OFDI reverse technology spillover effect,which include access to OFDI technology spillovers,technology transfer to the parent company,improvement of technical level of home country.On the basis of analyzing the factors that affect the efficiency of energy,this paper studies the mechanism of OFDI reverse technology spillover effect on the role of the improvement of energy efficiency.In the empirical analysis,this paper chooses 10 major developed economies in China's OFDI process as the sample,and draws on the LP model to estimate the reverse technology spillovers obtained from the developed economy in 2003-2014.And then this paper selects the energy efficiency data of China as the dependent variable,selects the energy consumption structure,the industrial structure and the domestic technical level as the control variables,and uses the regression analysis model to test the relationship between the reverse technology spillover and the energy efficiency.This paper can conclude: the increase in energy efficiency is 0.12% for every 1% increase in OFDI reverse technology spillover.In this paper,theoretical analysis and empirical test proved that China's OFDI reverse technology spillover has a positive effect on energy efficiency.Finally,according to the actual situation in China,from the perspective of China's OFDI reverse technology spillovers to promote technological progress,this paper puts forward specific policy recommendations in order to improve energy efficiency.
