Shanghai Shipbuilding Industry Association (1949-1958)

As the grassroots organizations of the Chamber of Commerce in the Republic of China,the Association has made a change in the social scope and function range of the historical process,but its common ground is to make efforts for the development of the industry and actively develop industry standards to protect the same industry mutual benefit.But the Association from the founding of the country,only survived a short span of ten years,the reasons for its demise,academics have not been in-depth discussion.The completion of the thesis has taken advantage of the archives of the Shanghai Association of Modern Industry in Shanghai Archives.The author chooses the Shanghai Shipbuilding Industry Association as one of the typical examples to reflect the evolution of the Shanghai Industrial and Commercial Association at the beginning of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.The degree of the whole period of the founding of the 1958 to the modern industrial and commercial association of the development of the whole picture.In this paper,the development process of the Association is divided into three stages,namely,responding to the call of the state,organizing the enterprises to restore the stage of economic production,launching the stage of accepting the socialist transformation,promoting the public-private sector of the industry,and analyzing the objective Contrary to the nature,functional weakening is the cause of the extinction of the Association,but also reflects the early days of the founding of Shanghai from the restoration of economic life to complete the socialist transformation of the whole process.In this paper,the use of case studies and empirical analysis of the combination of research methods,to fully explore the Shanghai archives of the archives and newspapers and other literature,trying to sort out the development context,reveal the truth.At present,Shanghai is inseparable from the support of the shipbuilding industry,but also inseparable from the Association and other industry organizations to help.Therefore,the research will promote the research of the history of the modern industry at the same time,will help to broaden the horizons of urban history,and to promote the economic class social groups in orderly development,coordination between government and industry organizations have a reference.
