This paper analyzes the cross- sectional data of 37 districts and counties in Chongqing from 2006 to 2015, the different income between urban and rural areas is the explained variable, the foreign direct investment is the explanatory variable, and it has an analysis according 8 control variable: industrial structure of Chongqing,economy development condition, financial industry development condition,urbanization level, foreign trade dependence degree, agricultural commodity rate,capital stock per worker and education level.The article is divided into six parts, and the first part is the introduction, which mainly analyzes the writing background and main content of this article. The second part is the literature review , which can be summarized as that there are many scholars believe that foreign direct investment expanded the income gap, few scholars believe that both don't have too much,and most scholars think that foreign direct investment to the host country of the income gap has inhibitory effect.The third part is the theoretical analysis of the effect of foreign direct investment on urban and rural income disparity. In the fourth part, the impact analysis of the income gap between urban and rural areas in Chongqing was analyzed, and the result was: (1) the main source of foreign investment in Chongqing is from Hong Kong. (2) foreign direct investment in Chongqing shall be invested in a major way by foreign joint venture enterprises and wholly foreign-funded enterprises in the form of wholly owned enterprises; (3) direct foreign investment in Chongqing industrial distribution, mainly concentrated in the third industry, internal distribution is uneven and industry, mainly focused on the real estate industry in the tertiary industry. The fifth part is an empirical analysis and concludes that (1) FDI has widened the income gap between urban and rural areas. (2) the greater the proportion of the industry, the greater the income gap between urban and rural areas; (3) economic development has widened the income gap between urban and rural areas. The sixth is divided into conclusion,mainly analyzes the empirical results in chapter 5, according to the actual situation explained the empirical results, according to the empirical results put forward the corresponding countermeasures and Suggestions.
