China's economy has settled into a new normal.Slowing growth has been putting increasing pressure on the development of the economy,which leads to a series of negative effects on the operation of China's banking industry.It also puts challenges on the sustainable development of commercial banks,and intensifies the competition between banks.To survive the competition,commercial banks actively seek new strategies and upgrade services.C Bank,a city commercial bank in the western region,shows prominent problems in the management of business data and customer relationship,which to a great extent has weakened its competitiveness in the banking industry.To reverse this unfavorable situation and finally enhance its market competitiveness,C Bank has launched a plan to construct a data warehouse and a new customer relationship management(CRM)system.This paper does an in-depth study on the construction and application of the data warehouse and the CRM system based on both theory and practical experience.The conclusions that have drawn from our research are:First,C Bank's data and customer relationship management need to be improved.The application of the data warehouse and the new CRM system will help improve the use and development of business data and promote the establishment of customer-centered management system,and therefore increases C bank's market competitiveness.Second,multi-faceted problems exist in C Bank's data and customer relationship management,and reasons are deep-seated.We should seek solutions not only from management but also from the technology aspect.Lastly,the construction and application of C bank's data warehouse and CRM system will be a long-term and systematic project.So a long-term mechanism is needed to continuously promote and optimize the construction and application,and it also requires strong support from the bank in aspects of organization,culture,personnel,funding and etc.We believe that through implementing the data warehouse and the CRM system,C Bank will be able to solve the challenges in business data and customer relationship management,and to ultimately enhance its market competitiveness.
