In the field of the contemporary western economic Marxism,Robert Brenner's academic idea has a great function and influence.Since the mid-to late 20 th century, the Americans' most ingenious contribution to the Marxist Theory is in the field of Political Economy. Many scholars devoted themselves to the economic study of human's society and history, especially in the capitalist world, and Robert Brenner's relevant theories are the typical achievements in this field. The main contribution of Brenner is that he put forward the theory of social property relations, which deems that all social development is depend on the macrostructure change formed by horizontal relationship and vertical relationship. This theory has become his ideological foundation of his research on the emergence and development of capitalism as well as the core of his Marxism economic theory.During the 1970 s and 1980 s,Brenner explained the transition of the Europe from Feudalism to Capitalism, thus launching the famous Brenner debate. This series of debates all have something to do with Brenner 's theory of class structure, namely the early expressional form of social property relations.Brenner believes that all societies have the existence of class structure, which determines the general economic development model and individual economic behavior of that society.Through this debate,Brenner has summed up his own transition theory and made a embryo form of his social property relations theory by absorbing the relevant theory of Marx,Dobb and other scholars. In the 1990 s,on the basis of his social property relations theory,Brenner put forward his “crisis theory” through the analysis of the phenomenon that major capitalist countries, especially America,Germany, and Japan, has experienced prosperity to prolonged recession after World War II.Brenner thinks that the capitalist economy crises are mainly caused by the excessive competition arising from the manufacturing overcapacity.Although Brenner's economic crisis theory is the outcome of the research on capitalist world economic community,it still has the reference significance for economical operation of our nation. To sum up,market economy's own disadvantages, adverse factors from our country's internal environment and impact of external economic crisis can all be the factor to affect the positive operation of our country's economy, even lead to economic crisis. As a consequence of this,in order to ensure a sustainable and healthy economic development and prevent the economic crisis,it is very necessary to take positive measures as follows: strengthen macroscopic control, prevent market malfunction;reduce income gap, expand domestic demand;reinforce government's financial regulation, prevent crisis penetration, etc.
