Analysis And Reference Of Toshiba Financial Fraud Case

Toshiba,established in 1904,is the largest semi-conduct manufacture and second largest electrical appliances manufacture in Japan.For years,Toshiba was leading the company management reform in Japan,which was collected as a case study in Company Management.However,all these glories were stained with a notorious financial scandal in May of 2015.First,the thesis presents a summary of relevant theories on financial fraud both home and abroad.Then,based on literature review and theories,analysis on financial fraud of Toshiba is conducted with case study method.The thesis mainly analyzes the whole fraud from its methods,cause,characteristics,and consequences.At last,lessons are condensed from the results of the analyses of Toshiba financial fraud for enterprises and economic development in China.The research shows that the reason why Toshiba fraud happened lies in not only the conflict between the management level’s intensive attention with inappropriate enterprise culture and operation,but major defect in internal control regulation of Toshiba.Compared with the environment where enterprises in China develop,Toshiba’s problems also manifest in enterprises in China.As for these problems,the paper also proposes several solutions.
