With the gradual strengthening of China's economic strength,especially the completion of China-ASEAN Free Trade Area and the establishment of Maritime Silk Road,China's direct investment in Malaysia is increasing,and Malaysia's economic corridor will help attract China to invest.In this background,the mutual direct investment in China and Malaysia to bilateral economic development has a lot to ascend.China is in a critical period of economic transformation,Malaysia's direct investment and direct investment in Malaysia will not only improve China's scientific and technological innovation,but also to digest excess capacity,and promote the upgrading of industrial structure.Malaysia hopes to improve its economic development with China's opening to the outside world and cooperation with foreign countries.Therefore,to study the influencing factors of China and Malaysia mutual direct investment has certain reference significance for negotiation China about foreign direct investment,foreign direct investment policy and bilateral investment agreements.This paper first outlines the background and significance of the topic.In this paper,it reviews the domestic and foreign literature on two-way mutual direct investment,and point out the deficiency.Then,it introduces the development and characteristics of direct investment between China and Malaysia.In this paper,we choose the direct investment between China and Malaysia in 2000-2015 as the explanatory variable.The size of the two countries,the export situation of the two countries,the nominal exchange rate and the number of tourists,the number of students as explanatory variables.The conclusion is drawn by empirical analysis:the size of the market,the export situation,the nominal exchange rate and the number of students studying abroad are the main factors that affect China's direct investment in Malaysia,the number of tourists is less affected.In the process of Malaysia's direct investment in China,we can see that the market size,the export situation,the nominal exchange rate and the number of tourists are the main factors.In view of the different factors affecting the direct investment between China and Malaysia,this paper puts forward some policy suggestions.These proposals include continue to strengthen political cooperation,strengthen bilateral high-level leadership exchanges and national policy guidance;expand industrial cooperation,cooperation between the two sides to optimize the industrial structure,improve the construction of industrial parks;attach importance to the cultural exchanges between the two countries.
