An Empirical Study On The Relationship Between Founder's Control Power And Firm Growth

Founders are people who create enterprise. Founders are special human resource for enterprise development who can not be replaced. The founder of high-tech enterprises is often leading technology, business philosophy and strategic decision, the identity of the creator, is the actual control of the enterprise. Researching the founder control on the role of business growth can not only expand the research boundary of entrepreneur theory, but also reveal the inherent mechanism of business growth from the perspective of key figures.This paper analyzes the sources of the founder control on the basis of past research, and put forward the evaluation of founders' control power in three dimensions of ownership power, structural power and reputation power, and select 10 indicators to measure these dimensions.Then based on the measurement model of control, put forward hypothesis of the relationship between single index and firm growth, as well as the cross relationship between the indicators with corporate growth. And then initiate an empirical study of the gem high-tech enterprise data to test these assumptions.The following are the main conclusions: there is a positive correlation between the founder ownership and growth of enterprises; the founder served as general manager can promote the growth of the enterprise; for the high-tech enterprises, founder with political association served as general manager, can promote enterprise growth. The reason may be directly related to these conclusions are as follows: the more direct holdings founder have, the more attention will be payed to the growth of enterprise; founder served as general manager of enterprises,will make contribution to the growth of enterprises; political association founder, served as general manager of the enterprise under the condition of the more extensive social network can help to mobilize more useful resources, so as to guide the rapid development of enterprises.
