An Empirical Study On The International Trade Promoting The New Urbanization In China

China has attracted worldwide attention with its dramatic urbanization.Since the financial crisis,all of the world has been in a slow recovery,the Chinese economy also suffered a great impact and undertook the enormous pressure of the downstream in recent years.It can be said that the recovery of the world's economy depends on China,and the potential of China's economy lies in urbanization,especially a sustainable new-type urbanization which has got rid of the extensive mode of development in the past.There are many ways,including through economic growth,industrial restructuring,stimulate consumption and investment,can bring a new level of urbanization.International trade has always been consider as one of the three carriages pulling the economy of our country.We should not ignore the importance of international trade just for the shrinking of trade scale under the weak global economy environment.On the contrary,we should grasp the opportunity to establish mutual benefit and win-win trade relations in the new era.In this way not only can help domestic economic development and urbanization level improve,but also boost the world's economic refresh.Therefore,the research on the impact of trade on China's new-type urbanization has important theoretical and realistic significance.Firstly,this paper summarized relevant theories on urbanization and factors which is promoting the development of new-type urbanization.Then we analyzed the mechanism of international trade on urbanization.Secondly,we established an appraisal system of new-type urbanization,and estimated scores of China's 30 provinces during 2004-2013.Then we Used international trade,economic growth,industrial level,government investment and infrastructure as control variables to do empirical analysis with Stata.The results show that international trade has a significant impact on the development of new-type urbanization in China.This effect is positive for a national wide.But it is opposite because of the huge differences between the Eastern Region and others.In the Eastern region,trade has entered a stage of diminishing marginal contribution so that continuation to expand the scale of trade in the eastern region of the new-type urbanization has a negative impact.On the contrary,trade development has a positive impact on the new-type urbanization in the Midwest Region.Economic growth also shows difference.Similar to the impact and trade,Eastern Region economy has also developed to a higher level.New-type urbanization can't be promoted only by economy.The development of new-type urbanization relies on a more reasonable industrial structure and the level of infrastructure.In addition,government investment in the country has shown a negative effect.A simple investment has not led to the improvement of new-type urbanization because of extensive investment,a large number of repeated construction and the crowding out effect of government investment on private investment.Finally,based on the results,we put forward some suggestions to promote the development of new-type urbanization.
