It is the research on the characteristics and influence of the top management team that has caused great concern in recent years.The technical top management team has specificity in top management team,who have technical background and talking right which reflects their position in the company,thus understanding further the innovation orientation of the enterprise so that they can provide technical support and researching orientation for innovation.Consequently,it's necessary to focus on this group for their motivation to the companies.This paper based on he "upper echelons theory" aims to analyzing the final decision and the innovation performance deriving from difference between CEO and Technical Top Management Team,by means of observing demographic characteristics of the latter.Moreover,Board of Directors holds the decision-making power of economic planning and investment planning in China,while they are represented by CEO.Therefore,it is very meaningful to study the impact of the technical top management team on the performance of the corporation innovation performance.This paper takes the data of 2006 and 2015 of A-share listed companies in Shenzhen and Shanghai as the research samples,analyzing vertical dyads feature of “CEO-Technical Top Management Team” on the corporation innovation performance and the moderating effect of CEO overconfidence on the two relations above.The results show that If the CEO is male,and the technical top management team of the overall gender is the same,the impact on corporation innovation performance is positive;on the contrary,if the CEO is female,but the technical top management team of the overall gender is different,the impact on corporation innovationperformance is negative;if the CEO of the board is overconfident,there will be a positive effect on the relationship between the gender of vertical dyads feature and the corporation innovation performance of the enterprise.As for age difference,the more obvious the gap of vertical dyads feature of the CEO and the technical top management team is,the lower the corporation innovation performance is.The CEO overconfidence will enhance the negative correlation between age vertical dyads feature and corporation innovation performance.As for education background,if the education vertical dyads feature of the CEO and the technical top management team is more evident,the corporation innovation performance is more excellent;The CEO overconfidence will enhance the positive correlation between education vertical dyads feature and corporation innovation performance.CEO overconfidence is positively correlated with firm corporation innovation performance.These conclusions provide a new perspectives for the study of the influence of the heterogeneity of top management team and CEO overconfidence on corporation innovation performance.Based on the above conclusions,There is certain significance to improve the layout of the technical top management team and the performance of enterprise innovation,broaden the research vision and enrich the previous theoretical research.
