Analysis Of Chinese Port Enterprise's Transnational M&A

With the development of modern port industry,investments in port industry are also keeping increasing.In the beginning of 21 st century,some international terminal operators began to promote their global business strategies actively by port mergers and acquisitions all over the world,helping to improve their globa l port network,and the wave of transnational M&A of global port industry reached the peak in 2005-2007.By the strategy of cross-border M&A,several global terminal operators have built their world port network and increased their comprehensive strength,becoming the leaders of the world port industry.Judging from China's port industry,a part of China's port enterprises has been engaged in performing foreign direct investment actively.While the current approach of overseas investment is mainly by joint ventures and cooperative manner,and there is no transnational merger and acquisition case at present,Some C hinese port enterprises have already possessed the conditions to perform transnational mergers and acquisitions.This paper firstly analyzes the M&A status and characteristics of Chinese port enterprises,and secondly discusses the specific external conditions and internal conditions for China's port enterprises to carry out transnational merger.What's more,the paper investigate the transnational merger cases of some domestic and foreign port enterprises,trying to explore some experience for reference.Combining the port industry development status of C hina and the typical cases,the paper attempt to provide some experience for C hina port enterprise to carry out transnational merger effectively.
