Influence Factors Of Farmers’ Willingness On The Utilization Of Maize Straw

Nowadays,biomass resource has been used as an effective measure to solve the contradiction among population,resources and environment around the world.With the energy structure and life quality has change in rural areas,a great deal of straw which is an important part of the biomass is burnt or abandoned,leading a large number of resource wasted and environment pollution.Changtu is located in the golden corn belt,there are 3 million tons of maize straw produced every year.Although the maize straw is used as fertilizer,fodder and fuel resource,the utilization of maize straw is still weak.The purpose of the research is to encourage the local villagers to use maize straw resource voluntarily.We conducted a survey in Changtu county to study the main influence factors of farmers’ willingness on the utilization of maize straw based on theory of famer behavior and theory of planned behavior(TPB).There were 534 valid questionnaire from 39 villages to analyze.Twenty-two influence factors of farmers’ willingness were involve in binary logistic analysis to screen the key factors,eight key factors was used to analyze to data of questionnaires.Further analysis of the common influence factors of farmers’ willingness and behavior,the results showed that there were 5 factors including political status,occupation,farmland area,the proportion of agricultural incomes in total income of family,the technical training about the utilization of straw provided by government significantly influenced on the utilization of maize straw resource.In conclusion,in order to improve the utilization of maize straw resource,the government should bring in the companies related to the utilization of maize straw resource.It is a good way to increase the number of non-agricultural occupation opportunities.The government should give enough support to the families who has large scale cultivated area of maize.The party members should play an important role to utilize the straw.The activities of training and technical support organized by the government need be improve.
