With the development of economic and the increase of people's income, the time is becoming more and more scarce,so that how to use the limited time to pursuit unlimited wealth becomes a problem. The allocation of time is not only a choice of people, but also can reflect the quality of life and the way of life. But there are some differences between time allocation of men and women.Compared with men, women have shorter working hours, study time and leisure time, longer homework time, which is one important source of the inequality of men and women.Especially in dual-earner families, wives should not only spent almost as much time as men in the labor market, but also have to do more housework, which is disadvantageous to the development of women and family.Income is one of the important factors that affect time allocation.Non-labor income, own labor income and spouse labor income can have an impact on the allocation of time.To analyze the difference of time allocation of husbands and wives in dual-earner families and which affects it is of great significance. It is good for making choices which improve time benefits and promoting individual development. In addition,it can help decision-making departments make policies which promote the development of men and women together, improve the family development ability and promote the sustainable development of the society.Using the data of China Family Panel Studies(CFPS)in 2010,on the basis of time allocation theory, gender role theory and work-family balance theory, this paper analyses the differences of husbands' and wives' time allocation in dual-earner families and how the non-labor income, own labor income and spouse labor income effect dual-earner couples' work time, housework time, study time and leisure time on weekdays.Compared with husbands, wives have longer housework time, shorter work time, study time and leisure time and a heavier labor burden in dual-earner families. The results show that the influence to the husband and wife is not exactly the same.An increase in non-labor income can cause wives to increase their study time and leisure time and husbands to increase their leisure time. Both husbands and wives increase their work time and learning time and reduce housework time when their own labor income increases, and husbands' housework time changes more. When the husband's labor income increases, the wife's working hours decrease and the leisure time increases, and the increase in the wife's labor income has no significant effect on the husband's time allocation;with the increase in the number of years of education, the husband and wife's working hours are shortened, and learning time and leisure time is increased, and men with high degree of education are more inclined to share the housework with wives.Based on the present situation of family time allocation in double-income family and the empirical results, time allocation of gender difference is not only related to income but also have a close correlation with the "men outside the home, women inside"gender role.To reduce the gender differences in time allocation, lighten the labor burden of women, promote the equality between men and women and realize the harmonious development of family and society, this paper put forward some suggestions:raising residents' non-labor income, improving women's labor income, promoting the socialization of housework, building a more equal and inclusive gender culture and providing a family-friendly working environment and public policy.
