In the late last century,many countries have had reformation of interest rates liberalization,it is the inevitable result of a country's economic development,also is the inevitable result of financial development,and is the trend of times.Market-oriented interest rate reform in China started late,officially launched in 1996.After more than ten years of development,it has made some achievements.With the deepening of reformation of interest rates liberalization,the influence form the market continuously had an impact on financial institutions in China,especially the commercial banks.After interest rates liberalization,commercial banks will have a greater pricing power than before and autonomy in management.It will promote commercial banks to carry out some independent innovations,etc.Interest rates liberalization not only brings many opportunities for commercial banks but also brings great challenges to them.Market-oriented interest rate reform puts forward some high request to the management environment of commercial banks,transformation of business model,interest rate pricing and market competitiveness.The commercial banks in China should keep calm.They should seize the opportunities and face up to the challenges.At first,this paper talks about the meaning of interest rates liberalization and conditions of China's market-oriented interest rate reform,then interest rates liberalization process in China,and analyzes successful experiences of America's market-oriented interest rate reform and failure lessons of Chile.At the end of the paper,the author analyzes beneficial effects and adverse effects that the market-oriented interest rate reform brings to banks and then puts forward some measures to solve the adverse effects of commercial bank.
