| In the face of global economic,technological innovation has become an important embodiment of the core competitiveness in a country or an enterprise,so the technological innovation has attracted more and more scholars’ attention.A country can not only rely on its own strength to raise the level of technological innovation,but also can reply on the introduction of technology and technological spillovers to improve the level of technological innovation,and thus accelerate the development of economy.At present,many literatures have studied the impact of technological structure of export commodities on technological innovation,but few literatures have involved the technological innovation of import technology structure.Therefore,this article attempts to study the influence of technology structure of commodities to the technology innovation from the angle of import trade.First of all,this paper reviews the domestic and foreign related research literatures on the measurement of the technical structure of import commodities,the economic effects of import commodity technology structure,and the influencing factors of technological innovation.And this paper uses the computational complexity in Hausmann(2005)to calculate the technical complexity of 128 countries during 2004-2014.At the same time,this paper analyzes the present situation of import structure and technology innovation in different countries,and finds that countries with different economic levels have great differences in their import commodity structure and technological innovation level.Then,because of the availability of data,this paper uses nearly 11 years(2004-2014 years)international panel data of 43 countries in the world to establish a regression model to analyse the influence of import commodities technical structure of technological innovation through empirical analysis.Finally,this paper divides the 43 sample countries into developed and developing countries in accordance with the United Nations development program’s "human development index" standard.According to the analysis of the empirical results.This paper puts forward the feasible suggestions and policies to improve the technological innovation in China.It is found that:(1)The improvement of the trade commodity structure technology has a significant role in promoting technological innovation.When other conditions remain unchanged,the technical complexity of each increases one percentage point,its R&D intensity increased by 0.03 percentage points.(2)The increase in foreign direct investment has a significant negative effect on technological innovation.When otherconditions remain unchanged,a country’s foreign direct investment of each increases one percentage point,its R&D intensity increased by 4.38 percentage points.(3)The improvement of higher education enrollment rate of a country has a very significant role in promoting technological innovation.When other conditions remain unchanged,the higher education enrollment rate increase each percentage point,the R&D intensity increased by 0.85 percentage points.(4)The improvement of a country’s foreign trade openness has a positive effect on technological innovation.When other conditions remain unchanged,a percentage point increase a country’s trade openness,the R&D intensity increased by 0.62 percentage points.(5)Whether the developed countries or developing countries,the improvement their import trade goods technology structure will play a significant role in promoting technological innovation.(6)The increase of foreign direct investment in developing countries has more inhibitory effect on technological innovation than developed countries.(7)The increase in enrolment in Higher Education of developing countries has more inhibitory effect on technological innovation than developed countries. |
