As more and more new technologies are introduced to the lives of people, such as mobile payments, social networks, search engines, and cloud computing, the Internet has never had such a huge impact on our society as it does now. This change subverts not only how people see this world, but also the way they communicate with each other. The Internet has also brought a spirit of “openness, equality, cooperation, and sharing” to many industries, which is pushing them to change. The finance industry is no exception. The financial market used to be monopolized, but in just a few years, online finance has created a brand new mode of finance, enriching the financial market greatly, and providing more choices to customers with various financial needs.Meanwhile, although most of the financial market is still occupied by commercial banks, more and more phenomena have proved that online finance has posed a threat to the business space of commercial banks, for instance, the transference of gross settlement, the loss of deposits, and the decrease in the number of credit clients. Therefore,I believe it is of great value to research on the running mode of online finance, indentify its threat and shock to the banking industry, and present effective strategies to commercial banks to cope with the challenges brought by online finance.Although the topic of online finance's shock on commercial banks has been discussed in many theses at home and abroad, their focuses are always on gross settlement and personal consumption and finance, while another significant component of online finance which is also one of the core businesses of commercial banks,is rarely mentioned – the corporate credit business. Therefore, this thesis mainly focuses on corporate credit business, aiming to create a unique angle for the research on online finance's shock on commercial banks with the analysis of online corporate credit. When selecting the objects of study,I also took into consideration the fact that although state-owned commercial banks occupy most of the banking market and represent the highest level of comprehensive strength among all commercial banks in China, they still ought to reform and enhance their technological strength under the shock by online finance,as interest rate growth is slowing down and the rate of non-performing loans is climbing under the influence of interest rate liberalization and economical “new normal”.Among the major five state-owned commercial banks,China Construction Bank was the first one to complete shareholding reform, making it a pioneer in management philosophy and value-creating efficiency.Hence,I chose China Construction Bank as the one of the objects of study in this thesis, hoping to present feasible strategies to all state-owned commercial banks under the shock by online finance,by analyzing online corporate credit and comparing the similarities and differences of corporate credit business between online finance and China Construction Bank.Relevant theses and theories on corporate credit and online finance are referenced in this thesis. This thesis begins with the elaboration of the features of corporate credit, through thorough analysis on the development history, characteristics, strengths and weaknesses of four representative business modes of online corporate credit, aiming to identify which aspects of commercial banks' corporate credit are actually threatened by online finance.Furthermore, the advantages and disadvantages of China Construction Bank on corporate credit are discussed,by presenting China Construction Bank's current development level of corporate credit business, and comparing it with an online corporate credit platform PPDAI on several aspects of corporate credit, including marketing, products, risk control and so on.Finally, different strategies are presented to China Construction Bank and other state-owned commercial banks to cope with the challenges brought by online corporate credit in an era of online finance,by elaborating how these state-owned commercial banks should give full play to their advantages, seize opportunities, and break through bottlenecks when threatened by online finance, and presenting the idea of integration between state-owned commercial banks and online finance, which I believe is a more competitive mode of corporate credit business in this era of the Internet.
