Focused ultrasound(FUS)therapy has achieved good efficacy in the treatment of breast cancer,abdominal tumors,uterine fibroids,and many other soft tissues.It has been discovered its utility in targeted increase blood-to-brain permeability noninvasively in the brain,while keeping surrounding tissues undamaged.However,while studying focused ultrasound treatment,there are some current challenges hampers the technology been applying for clinical usages.Cranial bone tissue exercises a great influence on attenuation and absorption of ultrasound,which may cause energy attenuation,focus bending even the out-of-focus.Considering the problems above,we do some researches.(1)We build a three-dimension that can model the head focus process of the ultrasound.a)By integrating the coordinate system,we rebuild the three-dimension model with the information of FUS transducer,human skull and tumor.b)We proposed a nontrivial method to set the ideal treat area according to the size and position of the tumor.(2)Based on the Rayleigh-Sommerfeld integral,we establish simulation method to solve a multi-layered problem.As a consequence,we can imitate the focus process in the three-dimension model when the ultrasound penetrating through the skull.After computing the real coverage degree of the focus point and the sound field distribution situation after the sound field simulation,we can can know if the treatment plan is reasonable.Then we can help doctor enact proper treatment plan before the surgery.(3)We developed the interface with the basis of C#and in combination with OpenGL for treatment planning of FUS-induced brain treatment.The interface can import the relevant data about the treatment and then does the graphic rebuilding.It will give the doctor a intuitive feeling during his treatment.We demonstrate the usefulness of the proposed interface in providing functions including interactive 3D anatomical demonstration,co-registration,and FUS pattern prediction and simulation.While pressing the control button for treatment trajectory switching,the relative position of the probe and the skull can be changed interactively to allow the physician go through the entire treatment process procedure.(4)We calculate the drawing time and observe the display of the graph,then we can find out the perfect parameter by analysis the value we calculated and observed.These researches can support doctor effectively during his planning before the surgery or the specific operation during the surgery,also our research open up a new direction about algorithm research based on the focus ultrasound brain tumor treatment.
