Chrysomyia megacephala,a kind of corpse-eating insect, belongs to Calliphoridae family. Most of studies based upon Chrysomyia megacephala research were reported in forensic science, basic biology, and agriculture biotechnology. But only few reports were available on the application of Chrysomyia megacephala in conversion of pig manure.Well known that,China is a major producer of pigs in the world, and produces about much the pig manure, which has detrimental effects on the environment. Thus we need to convert the huge biomass of pig manure into some useful material or its recycling in an ecofriendly manner.Secondly, with the rapid development of stockbreeding,it’s important to use the pig manure as protein supplement for insect growth of biotechnological use, which can solve the serious problem of fecal pollution, and also alleviate the problem of protein feed shortage. In addition, that the study of Chrysomyia megacephala and the convertionof pig munure is very important to improve the sustainable development of animal husbandry and protect the environment in our country. In this study Chrysomya megacephala and pig manure were used as the tools and major objective sof this study are:the domestication of Chrysomyia megacephala and the feeding and ovipositing in a growth cycle of Chrysomyia megacephala;optimizing to the egg receiving media of the special Chrysomyia megacephala;converting the pig manure alone,or combinating the bacillus kept in our lab to convert the pig manure,to find the most suitable condition and the yield of the maggot and organic fertilizer;according the characteristics of Chrysomyia megacephala larvae,to find the method of separation of cmaggot and organic fertilizer. The main results are as follows:1)Th research of the domestication of Chrysomyia megacephala and the feeding as well as ovipositing in a growth cycle of Chrysomyia megacephala.Using the pig manure as ovipositng and feed media, after recirculating aquaculture for multi generations,to find a suitable Chrysomyia megacephala for conversion of pig manure. For example:the rate of pupa emergen is 75%,when putting 300 g pupa, which means that we put in 5360 Chrysomyia megacephala,we find that 450 g sugar is needed. The emergence to the end of the ovipositing peak. After 18 days of emergence to the end of the ovipositing peak, and it reachs at the peak on the ninth day. After acclimation, the larvae prefer to convert the pig manure which is low protein and low fat well, the adult prefers to lay eggs in the pig manure, which makes the feed cost down 71.8%.2)Taking the pig manure as egg collecting media and to optimize of the special Chrysomyia megacephala egg collecting media. After exploring and Selecting, the best egg collecting media and its condition are established.the pig manure which is excreted in 2-3 months the water content is controlled at 75%and the time of natural fermentation is 6-12 h at room temperature.Taking the egg collecting media kicher 1-2 cm at the periphery and the central position of the egg collecting dish.3)The Chrysomyia megacephala converts the pig manure individually,or in combination with BME-38 bacillus procured from our lab to convert the pig manure. The research has ben done to study the yield of the maggot and organic fertilizer, and the analysis to the main products. We get the best conditions for the conversion and retined the water content 65%,the optimum thickness is 6 cm,the best temperature is 35℃ The convertion can be completed in less than 3.5 days. The optimum convertion rate of the dry maggot is 12.86%,and for dry bioorganic fertilize is 63.74%.Comparision of the convertion rate of pig manure individually, and in combination with BME-38 bacillus was done was found to be 13.07%for maggot, the best convertion rate of the dry bioorganic fertilize is 63.19%.According to the results,we can find that combinations of BME-38 resulted in more maggot. After the analysis to the nutrition of adult, larva and the quality of organic fertilizer. We find that the crude protein(CP)content of adult and the larvae is 52.9%and 51.9%,crude fiber(CFi)is 9.8%and 8.6%,crude fat(CFa)is 3.0%and 20.6%,crude ash(CA)is 4.6%and 9.4%,nitrogen free extract(NFE)is 16.2%and 5.0%,water is 3.7%and 4.5%.According to these results the adults and the larvae are suitable for protein feed. After checking the bioorganic fertilizer which comes from the convertion of the larvae or the larvae combining the BME-38,we find that the content of the organic matter in the pig mature and the organic fertilizer which comes from the convertion of the larvae or the larvae combining the BME-38 is 53.62,54.17 and 54.25%,the content of the total nutrient quantity is 6.15,7.08 and 6.03%,the weight of crude fiber is 5.9,5.4 and4.4 kg(taking the 100kg pig munure which the water content is 65%),the content of heavy metals are under the national standard(NY 525-2012).Compared with pig manure, the content of the crude fiber in the bioorganic fertilizer converted by the larvae alone or combining the BME-38 are decreased by 8.5 and 25.7%respectively.4)According to the characteristics of the Chrysomyia megacephala larvae, and the organic fertilizer.Using different reagents as inducer to explore the way separating the larvae from the organic fertilizer,we find that the X reagent is best at last, and the separation rate is 97.9%in short time period of 2h.
