Hongshan gold deposit with the main lithology of alkaline syenite and copper-gold-polymetallic mineralization,occurring in the Hongshan volcano complex rock body located in the Handan-Xingtai metallogenic zone,is an important part of metallogenic belts in southern Taihang Mountain.Finding out how the gold deposite formating is not only beneficial to prospect the gold but also beneficial to research the ore-forming mechanism of gold in syenite rocks.With the analysis of the regional geological conditions of ore deposits in Hongshan,this paper explains the geological background,geological characteristics and the occurrence of gold deposits in Hongshan.In addition,lots of geochemical analysis on the constant elements,trace elements,rare earth elements,Au?Ag?As?Hg elements and fluid inclusions and S isotope have been carried out to find out the ore-forming mechanism of gold in Hongshan.With the comprehensive analysis of the controlling factors,geological characteris-tics and geochemical characteristics of gold deposits in Hongshan,it's initially identified that the cause of gold deposits belong to epithermal type of alteration in volcanic fractures.And gold ore likely to be multi-source with the main source of diorite natriumlization activation and the following hot liquid extraction from sandstone rocks,inaddtion from deep underground.The deposits are formed in the late period of magmatic activities in this area,namely the mid-late of Yanshan epoch or even later.
