LRR-RLPs(Leucine-Repeat Rceptor-Like Protein)are a class of cell surface-localized receptor proteins,containing 57 members in the genome of Arabidopsis.RLPs are kown to play important roles in regulating plant growth and defense response.RLP generally consists of three domains,an extracellular LRR domain,a transmembrane domain and an intracellular short peptide tail.In order to understand the biological functions of RLPs,a number of RLPs promoters have been cloned in this study to drive GUS reporter gene.The expression patterns of the RLPs genes were analyzed by GUS staining.Generally,RLP genes showed low expression levels.Certain gene exhibited specific expression patterns,suggesting their roles in regulating specific biological events.Previous studies indicated RLPs can interact with other cell surface receptors such as RLKs.RLP10,also known as CLV2,can interact with CLV1 and regulate meristem development.RLP51 interact with SOBIR1 to modulate plants defense response.Due to the lack of kinase domain in RLPs,they are not able to transduce the down stream signals via phosphorylation.In this study,by using mbSUS(based on the separation of yeast conjugation ubiquitin system identification of membrane protein interactions)and BiFc(double molecular fluorescent complementary),suggesting RLP11 can interact with FEI1,SERK2.SERK3.For more than a century,studies have been made to understand plant tropism,such as phototropism and gravitropism,both of which are related to the uneven distribution of auxin.Plant chemotropism,however,is less studied.Preliminary research suggested that plant respond to water availability,known as hydrotropism,which is less related to auxin.By using nitrogen free and nitrogen plus medium,the nitrogen tropism of plants was explored.The results indicated the Arabidopsis root indeed exhibited trpisom to NO3-.Arabidopsis may also have tropism to K+,but not to NH4+.Our data suggested Arabidopsis maintains the ability to seek for certain nutrient elements via changing the root growth.
