The Empirical Study On The Efficiency Of China's Express Industry Based On DEA Model

As an important part of the modern service industry,the express industry is linked to production and people's living activities all over the time efficiently,and it has already become an integral part of people's life.Also,the express industry has played an important role in providing social employment,promoting industrial linkage and development,serving the people's livelihood and creating social domestic demand,and it has become the force to promote economic growth.Along with the support for the development of the express industry,China's express industry has shown a trend of scale expansion in aspects of volume,revenue and express service outlets.With the rapid development and expansion,has the efficiency of China's express industry improved?And the express industry efficiency is of great importance to the development of express industry.Therefore,in order to make our express industry have a better development,it is of great significance to study the efficiency of express industry.This paper mainly studies the efficiency of China's express industry.First,it summarizes the related research on the efficiency of express industry in China and the research on efficiency evaluation methods of domestic and foreign scholars.Secondly,this paper gives the introduction of the theoretical background and the development process and present situation of the express industry in China.Then,based the measures of two stages DEA,In the first stage,the DEA method was used to evaluate the TE,PTE and SE of the 2011-2016 year express industry in the 31 provinces of China.Also,this paper gives some analysis.For the second stage of empirical study,this paper takes TE,PTE and SE as explanatory variables,and select the factors of influence factors as explained variables,and this paper quantitatively evaluates the factors that affect the efficiency of China's express industry.The main conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1)The three efficiency values were all 1 in six years are only in Zhejiang,Shanghai and Guangdong.In other words,the three provinces have kept the technology effective state,pure technical effective state and scale efficiency state.The other provinces did not reach six years effective state of the three efficiency values.(2)From the perspective of TE,TE is rising over time,and showing a "eastern area>middle area>west area" situation in the spatial dimension.The average value of TE in the eastern and middle area is higher than the national average value except western area and middle area of 2016.(3)From the perspective of PTE and SE of the whole country,the SE of China's express industry is more than PTE except for 2012 and 2016,and all of them are above 0.9,and the SE is very high.Regionally,PTE and SE are keep rising trend,and presents "eastern area>middle area>west area" of the situation,the PTE and SE of western area are all lower than the national average level.And the values of eastern and western area were higher than the national average value except some years.(4)The economic development level,urbanization level,the development of transportation(highway)and specialization all have a positive impact on the TE,PTE and SE of China's express industry and the express dot density only has a negative impact on the TE and SE of the express industry.
