Carbonate oil and gas fields have a very important position among all the world's oil and gas fields.Oil and gas from carbonate reservoirs account for more than half or more of the world's total oil and gas production. In this paper,Cretaceous pore-type carbonate reservoirs in W oil field are the main research objects. The research process is based on the basic theoretical framework of classical logging and geostatistics, comprehensive applied geological logging data, logging curve data and seismic data.Guided by the theory of sedimentology and sequential stratigraphy Using mud logging, coring, wireline logging and seismic data, research and identification of sequence interface of different levels from point, line to surface.Through actual data analysis, the basic parameters of the reservoir in the study block are calculated, identified reservoir oil and water distribution and describe pore distribution characteristics.Based on the processing and interpretation of the 7-well logging data in the study block, the lithological, vertical, and lateral spatial distribution patterns of the five oil-bearing layers developed in the Khasib,Mishrif,Rumaila, and Mauddud groups were identified.Based on the study of physical properties of strata and using multi-well constraint inversion techniques,a stratigraphic framework of the Cretaceous reservoir in the study area was established, and evaluated physical properties of the main five reservoirs.Proposed that reservoir change zone between the X-2 anticline and the X-1 anticline is the reason why the Ru-1?Ru-2a?Ru-2b and Ma-1 reservoir is only distributed in the X-1 well area and the X-3 well area in the long axis anticline structure.Determined that the reservoir in the study block is a layered edge-water reservoir type that is controlled by the dual role of tectonics and lithology. The volumetric method was used to estimate the controlled geological reserves in this area and the predicted control of geological reserves was 422 million tons.
