Previous study has shown that 40Hz flicker frequency reduces level of amyloid-? in mice model of Alzheimer's disease, which may provide a new idea for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. However,it is unclear whether the treatment is effective for humans.Because TAE and TEAE are believed to be generated in early visual cortex, even as early as in VI,and researchers also show that flicker frequency has a certain influence on the activities of the primary visual cortex. So,in order to further study this issue, this study conducts the investigation on human primary visual cortex nexural activity induced by 40Hz flicker frequency training based on tilt aftereffect and contrast threshold elevation aftereffect. The results show that there aren't significant before and after training in the experimental and control groups in tilt aftereffect experiment. In contrast threshold elevation aftereffect experiment, experimental group significantly decreases after training, but the control group is not significant. However, the change of TEAE is not significant between experimental and control groups. These results indicate that 40Hz flicker frequency may have a tendency to induce the human primary visual cortex activity, but it has not been clearly demonstrated in the current experimental context. The treatment of Alzheimer's disease by flicker frequency remains to be explored. The number of the control groups, subjects and experimental trials are not enough, and the training time is not long enough, which may be the reasons that influence the experiment results.
