The microbial resources are abundant in nature.Approximately 150 thousand of microorganisms, which accounts for about 10%of the microbial gross, have been identified, and only 1%of microbe has been developed among them. Therefore,a large number of unknown microorganisms should be discovered and studied their application. In this study, the bacteria were isolated from sewage sediments of Busan Park in South Korea. And the 16S rRNA gene sequences of 55 strains have been analyzed, and the preliminary identification was completed. It contains 18 genera, including Pedobacter,Sphingobium and Sphingomonas,in which Sphingobium strains account for the largest proportion. The new bacteria SYL130 was obtained by further identification. The strain was aerobic, showing salmonpink-pigmented colonies on R2A agar.Cells were single,Gram-stain-negative rods and motile by gliding. On the basis of 16S rRNA gene sequence analyses, srain SYL130 exhibited the highest 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity to Sediminibacterium aquarii JCM 31013T?96.1%?and the level 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity among strain SYL130 and other species of the Sediminibacterium are all below97%.Phylogenetic trees based on the neighbour-joining algorithm,maximum-likelihood and maximum-parsimony trees showed that strain SYL130 was clustered with Sediminibacterium aquarii JCM 31013T and other members of Sediminibacterium. This phylogenetic inference and base on the 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity indicated that strain SYL130 may represents a novel species of the genus Sediminibacterium. The related strains Sediminibacterium aquarii JCM 31013T,Sediminibacterium goheungense KCTC 23945T and Sediminibacterium salmoneum NBRC 103935T were used as reference strains to analyze together.Strain SYL130 was able to grow in the absence of NaCl.The temperature and pH ranges for growth were 4-37oC and pH 5.0-7.0.The DNA G+C content was 47.8 mol%.The major fatty acids?>5%of total?of strain SYL130 were iso-C15:15:1 G?23.22%?,iso-C15:0?28.29%?,anteiso-C15:0?5.98%?,iso-C16:06:0 3-OH?5.61%?and iso-C17:07:0 3-OH?9.56%?.The major polar lipids were phosphatidylethanolamine, one unidentifiedphospholipid, oneunidentifiedaminolipid, twounidentified aminophospholipids and six unidentified polar lipids. The predominant respiratory quinone was MK-7.Moreover,strain SYL130 has clearly different characteristics from related species including temperature and pH ranges for growth, being positive for L-arabinose and D-maltose and negative for?-galactosidase activity. On the basis of phenotypic, chemotaxonomic and genotypic analyses indicated that strain SYL130 represents a novel species of the genus Sediminibacterium, for which the name Sediminibacterium roseum sp.nov.,is proposed. The type strain Sediminibacterium roseum is SYL130?=KCTC 52860T=CCTCC AB 2017082T?.The genus of Sediminibacterium has great potential for environmental pollution control,But it still needs a lot of experiments to study its application value.
