Cohesive soil containing calcareous is widely distributed in Huaibei Plain of Anhui Province, its soil structure and physical and mechanical characteristics are obviously different from other known soils and belong to regional special soil, and its physical and mechanical characteristics are not systematically studied. The resistivity of soil can reflect the change of physical parameters and microstructure of soil, and then can reflect the physical and mechanical characteristics of soil.In view of this, based on the extensive collection and collation of relevant literature and research data, this paper systematically expounds the basic characteristics and the resistivity test method of cohesive soil containing calcareous, laboratory tests on physical and mechanical characteristics and resistivity characteristics of cohesive soil containing calcareouswere carried out with remolded soil samples. The unconfined compressive strength and resistivity of different cohesive soil containing calcareous samples were tested under different moisture content and different times of dry and wet cycles. The relationship between strength characteristics and resistivity, water content, microstructural elements of cohesive soil containing calcareous, dry and wet cycle times was studied. The results show that the unconfined compressive strength of the sample is inversely proportional to the moisture content, and directly proportional to the content of nodules, also has a negative correlation with the number of dry and wet cycles, the unconfined compressive strength of the specimen decreases slowly after two dry and wet cycles;and the resistivity can reflect the different microstructure of the specimen, the strength and deformation characteristics of the specimen and the compression process of the test, the relationship between initial resistivity or failure resistivity and unconfined compressive strength is logarithmic function. The relationship between pore ratio, compression modulus, resistivity and moisture content and the number of dry and wet cycles were studied by the consolidation resistivity test. The results show that the resistivity and porosity have a similar variation rule, and the compression modulus decreases with the increase of water content and the number of dry and wet cycles, compression modulus tends to be stable after two dry-wet cycles. The research results are helpful to establish the relationship between soil strength characteristics and soil meso structure elements by using soil resistivity, and to explore a new way to study the microstructure of soil.
