In modern times, the geomagnetic field has been more and more applied to the construction and development of human civilization with the rapid development of science and technology. The detection and positioning of magnetic anomaly is a successful case of the use of the earth's magnetic field.Aerospace navigation and navigation, mine anti-submarine,energy mineral exploration, geological disaster monitoring and forecasting applications and research continue to emerge, and now again become a research hot spot.Magnetic anomaly detection and localization technology is to extract the information of anomalous field from the measured value of the geomagnetic field so as to realize the positioning of the magnetic target. With the deepening of research, the positioning of complex target groups has put forward higher requirements for magnetic anomaly detection and localization technology.Compared with a single target,multi-objective modeling is more complicated, the requirements of the probe array are higher, and the solution is more difficult. As an exploration and attempt of multi-target magnetic localization technology, this paper proposes an algorithm of locating two magnetic moving targets by using the total magnetic field of geomagnetism based on the study of the single target localization of the total magnetic field in geomagnetism.A single magnetic target measurement array consisting of seven cesium-optic pump magnetometers was used as one measurement unit. Two measurement units were used to construct a dual-magnetic target measurement array. The magnetic dipole field is used as a magnetic field model which is produced by the magnetic target, and the two target magnetic dipole double array measurement equations are derived. The dual gradient algorithm is used to eliminate the effect of time variation and uneven spatial distribution in the geomagnetic field. The objective function of the particle swarm optimization(PSO)algorithm is given to retrieve the magnetic moment and position information of the two targets. The simulation in Matlab environment verifies the feasibility of this method. Finally,a number of localization experiments were carried out in the suburbs of Harbin. The experimental results verify the feasibility of using the geomagnetic total field to localize dual magnetic targets.
