Habitat Comparison Of Oriental White Stork(Ciconia Boyciana) In Different Periods

Oriental White Stork(Ciconia boyciana),is an endangered wading bird in the world.From September to December 2017,we investigated the autumn and winter habitats of Oriental White Stork with tracker in Honghe Reserve,and collected a number of habitat factors and plant dominant species data.The habitat survey data of Oriental White Stork were investigated by multivariate statistical method to compare the difference and similarity of habitat selection between in Breeding,Stopover and Overwintering Periods of Oriental White Stork.The habitat types of the Oriental White Storks in the Periods of Breeding,Stopover and Overwintering were analyzed.The results showed that the Oriental White Stork in the Breeding area(Honghe Nature Reserve)preferentially choose marsh wetlands(Ei=0.3333)and randomly selected the open water habitat(Ei=0.0909).In the Stopover Periods,the Oriental White Stork prefers to choose the fish pond(Ei=0.3878)and randomly selected beach wetland(Ei=-0.0345).In the Overwintering Periods,the Oriental White Stork preferred the beach(Ei=0.3333)and the open water habitat(Ei=0.2308),avoided the marsh(Ei=-0.4286),and did not choose the fish pond(Ei=-1).In Breeding and Overwintering Periods,Oriental white stork does not choose fish pond type habitat.Both Stopover and Overwintering Periods,the Oriental White Stork avoided to choose the marsh wetland type.The results of principal component analysis of habitat factors in Breeding,Stopover and Overwintering Periods showed that the main influencing factors of habitat selection of Oriental White Stork in Breeding Periods(Honghe)were water factor and food factor,followed by vegetation factor.The main factors influencing the habitat selection of Oriental white storks in Stopover Periods were water and food factors,while disturbance factors had little effect on the habitat selection of Oriental white storks.The main factors affecting the habitat selection of the Oriental White Stork in Overwintering Periods were water factor and vegetation factor,followed by food factor,but the influence degree of disturbance factor was low.The results of investigation on dominant plants of Oriental White Stork habitat showed that there were 5 species of dominant species in Honghe Nature Reserve,7 species of dominant species in Stopover sites,7 species of dominant species in Overwintering sites.The Reed(Phragmites australis)was the only dominant species widely distributed in the Breeding,Stopover and Overwintering Periods.Sedge(Carex)had a large area distribution in Breeding and Overwintering habitats of Oriental White Stork.
