There are many theoretical and experimental reports about 2D-3D hetero-structure.This structure can improve effectively the devices transmission in two dimensional photonic crystals and be an important platform for the ultra-large all optical or optoelectronic integrated circuit.By the finite difference time domain method,the transmission characteristics of the vertical waveguide,the integrated waveguide and the off-plane integrated circuit are investigated in 2D-3D hetero-structure working in terahertz range.The main works are as follows:Firstly,the transmission properties of a vertical waveguide in 2D-3D hetero-structure are designed,investigated,and analyzed in detail.The results show that both guide bandwidth and transmission efficiency can be adjusted effectively by shifting the vertical waveguide continuously.Surprisingly,the wide guide band and well transmission are observed simultaneously in several directions when the vertical waveguide is located at a specific location.Secondly,the off-plane integrated waveguide in 2D-3D heterostructure is designed,simulated and analyzed.The transmission characteristics is simulated in detail when the rotation angle between two adjacent cavities.The results prove that the transmission efficiency can be improved effectively by reducing the rotation angle between two adjacent cavities.When the output waveguide is also widened,the band range and transmission efficiency are improved further.Based on the above simulation,the integrated waveguides including four output waveguides is also designed and investigated.We find that all directions have good output efficiency.Lastly,the transmission properties of an off-planar integrated circuit including two or three devices are designed,simulated,and analyzed in detail.The results show that the wavelength selection for different ports can be realized by adjusting the parameters.It is especially important that the off-planar integration between two or three complex devices is also realized.
