Eugene Wigner,an outstanding physicist, nuclear engineer, educator, and philosopher of the 20 th century.Out of a keen interest in physics,Wigner embarked on a journey to explore the mysteries of nature, and symmetry is his key to unlocking the mystery. With this key and the natural mysteries of discovery,Wigner received the highest honor in the scientific community in1963-the Nobel Prize in physics: "Because of the discovery of atomic nucleus and basic particle theory, especially the principle of basic symmetry. And make outstanding contributions in areas such as applications."Wigner’s research on the mysteries of nature involves many fields of physics, such as quantum mechanics, solid physics, and nuclear physics.Symmetry continues throughout these studies and plays an important role in solving problems in these fields.Based on an in-depth study of the symmetry problem,he began to think about some basic problems of physics. While answering these basic questions,he produced profound insights about physics and even the entire science.Wigner’s research on symmetry and scientific contributions based on symmetry not only promoted the in-depth development of physics in the 20 th century, but also laid the core position of symmetry in physics in the 20 th century.Based on the analysis of Wigner’s scientific achievements based on symmetry, the dissertation analyzes the historical significance of his symmetry and analyzes his philosophical thinking on symmetry in order to present it in full and fullness the physics of Wigner ’s symmetry thought and its history and philosophical significance. The paper is divided into three chapters. The first chapter combs the scientific background of Wigner’s research on symmetry.Wigner’s research on symmetry is inseparable from his life and learning experience. Therefore,it is necessary to first understand the important turning points in his life, the people who have an important influence on him,and his major scientific contributions. The second chapter explains how Wigner applied symmetry to specific natural sciences and analyzed its profound impact. The well-knowncontribution of Wigner’s most physicists was the introduction of symmetry into quantum mechanics, for which he received the Nobel Prize in physics. His extensive work focused on nuclear physics and became the "first core engineer" during World War II.He has obtained a large number of patents in this field. Many of the foundations of modern solid theory were also established by Wigner and his students in the 1930 s.In these studies, symmetry thoughts have permeated all the time and they have led Wigner to make many original contributions. The third chapter analyzes the historical and philosophical significance of Wigner’s symmetry.Wigner’s research on symmetry profoundly changed the physicist’s attitude towards the principle of symmetry, which in turn influenced people’s description and understanding of nature and had important historical significance for the development of physics in the 20 th century.Wigner extended and reinterpreted the symmetry, distinguishing the geometric and dynamic properties of symmetry and invariance, classifying symmetry as geometric symmetry and dynamic symmetry;Wigner also repeatedly emphasized the link between symmetry, conservation laws and natural laws illustrates the knowledge level perspective.
