Abstract/Summary:
In recent years,the power of fiber lasers has been promoted rapidly,which making it be widely used in the fields of industrial manufacturing,national defense and military.In order to overcome the limitation of single fiber’s power,we need to develop fiber combiner that can synthesize the power of multiple fibers to achieve higher power output.As a key component of high power fiber lasers,fiber combiner directly affects the performance of the laser.In part one of this paper,the research history of fiber combiner is introduced.In recent years,Fiber combiner are widely used,affecting the development of high power fiber lasers.the development of optical fiber combiner has been developed rapidly both domestic and international,and the beam power is constantly improved.Part two,the key technologies of the fiber combiner are analyzed,mainly including fiber bundling,fused tapering,cutting,welding and packaging.According to the comparison and analysis of the different methods used in each technology,finally,according to the advantages,disadvantages and the design requirements of the subject,the flame heating method is selected to melt and taper the fiber as well as weld the fiber,and the ultrasonic cutting knife is used to cut the tapered fiber online.Part three,in the hardware aspect,the tapering platform is designed and built,it mainly includes the design of tapering platform and the building of the fire head movement platform.Finally,the melting,cutting and welding of the 37 fibers can be realized.In the software aspect,a control system is designed,and the operation of the tapering and welding can be programmed to control by writing the upper computer software.At last,In the process of experiment research,the improved method of fiber bundling is explained,and a new structure which is used to remove the fiber coating layer is designed.Then,in the experiment process of tapering,the technical parameters of fiber tapering are obtained according to the diameters of tapered fibers and the data of influence factors.Finally,the better tapered fiber and spliced fiber can be produced.
