High power diode lasers have been used in the fields of surface modification,welding,cutting and so on for their high efficiency,good reliability,long lifetime and small size.In this paper,the design of a diode laser system based on single emitters has been proposed for the application of ceramic welding.And the parts of polarization combining and focusing lens are experimentally verified.The main research contents are as follows:?1?The method of laser filler welding connection is adopted for the Al2O3 ceramic lined.And the effects of laser power and width on the weld appearance have been studied by experiment.The results show that the appearance is optimum when the weld width is same as the spot width and laser power reaches to 700W.?2?A diode laser welding system based on single emitters has been designed.After being collimated,polarization combined,wavelength combined and focused,the output power can reach to 800W and the spot,which is homogeneously distributed,has a flexible shape and size by changing the parameters of the focusing system,to meet the needs of different welding conditions.?3?The experimental results show that the output power of the diode laser module which is combined by 20 emitters is up to 200W,and the residual divergence angle of the fast and slow axes are 7.5mrad and 6.5mrad respectively.The polarization beam combining experiment has been conducted on two diode laser modules,and the maximum beam power is 384W and the combination efficiency is 96.62%.?4?A Fresnel focusing system with output spot size of 1×5mm2 is proposed and designed.The results simulated and optimized by Zemax show that the spot along the slow axis is focused narrowly,while along the fast axis the spot shows to be"flat top"distributed,and the homogeneity is up to 93.85%.The output light field of the Fresnel focusing system is also measured by a beam analyzer experimentally,and the spot at the focal spot shows a similar distribution to the simulation result.
