Evolutionary structural optimization(ESO),because of its simple,efficient and easy realized algorithm thought,has attracted the attention of many scholars at the beginning of its founding.The method theory is constantly mature and the application field is expanding.Structural frequency optimization is an important area in the research of ESO algorithm.Its purpose is to get the highest or lowest topology.The traditional ESO algorithm depends on the single index of the frequency sensitivity to determine the deletion of the element in the process of structural topology optimization.In the case of structural frequency optimization for Tie-beam,the structure failure will be caused by the error deletion of the element.In this paper,the virtual material is introduced on the basis of the traditional ESO algorithm.By changing the elastic modulus of the deleted element,the virtual frequency value of the element is tried.The method is used to determine whether the structure of the energy transfer path is destroyed,and then the ESO heuristic algorithm based on the virtual material is applied to the structure frequency optimization.Tie-beam and other examples show that the heuristic algorithm can avoid the failure of traditional algorithm and obtain the topology with optimal frequency.In this paper,the effects of the iterative control parameters on the heuristic algorithm and the traditional algorithm are analyzed and compared respectively.The results show that the heuristic algorithm is less influenced by the iterative control parameters than the traditional algorithm,and thus has the advantages of more accurate iterative process and better convergence.In this paper,the application of the heuristic algorithm to a certain type of drive plate production design project is carried out,and the frequency optimization design of the weight reduction hole of the drive plate is realized.The engineering example shows that the ESO based frequency optimization algorithm based on virtual materials has certain engineering practical value.
