| Pulsed laser ranging technology has the advantages of long detection distance,high measurement accuracy,fast detection speed,good anti-interference,good concealment,good directionality,etc.It is applied to different occasions such as satellite,airborne,vehicle.Silicon Photo Multiplier(SiPM)is a new type of high-speed photodetector device.Compared with traditional detectors,SiPM has the advantages of low bias voltage,high detection sensitivity,high gain,low temperature sensitivity,and insensitivity to magnetic fields.It is suitable for echo detection in pulsed laser ranging systems.Because of the practical application requirements of pulsed laser ranging system and the advantages of SiPM detectors for echo detection,a high-precision pulsed laser ranging system based on SiPM was designed.Focusing on the SiPM-based high-precision pulsed laser ranging system,several common laser ranging methods were introduced and compared in this paper.The advantages of pulsed laser ranging technology were analyzed.The working principle,characteristics,and indicators of the SiPM detector were introduced and analyzed.The maximum detection distance,probability of detection and false alarm probability,signal to noise ratio,and system accuracy of the pulsed laser ranging system based on SiPM were also discussed and analyzed.Experiments were performed to verify the detection performance of SiPM.Different time measurement methods were compared.Hardware and software design of the time measurement module based on TDC7201 was introduced.Experiments were performed to verify performance of the module,such as measurement range,measurement accuracy,linearity,multi-echo detection.A pulsed laser ranging system based on SiPM was built,experiments were performed to verify performance of the system.The main research results and innovations of this paper are as follows:1)The performance of SensL SiPM detector C series 10020 was analyzed and tested.The experiment results showed that the rise time of the fast output mode was about 460 ps and the pulse width was about 1 ns,which was suitable for high-precision laser ranging system.2)TDC7201 was used for time measurement.Experiments were performed to verify the performance of the time measurement module based on TDC7201.The results showed that the detection accuracy of this module was up to 30 ps,and the linear correlation coefficient of the linear fitting result was 1.This module can detect multiecho and can simultaneously measure 5 stop signals.3)The SiPM was used as the echo detector of the pulsed laser ranging system and the performance of the system was tested.The results at the range of 2-100 m showed that the minimum standard deviation of the measurement results was 0.48 cm,and the precision was as high as 1.439 cm.The linear fitting correlation coefficient between the ranging result and the actual calibration value was 1. |
