Power is an indispensable material foundation for human survival and development.With the progress of human society,the consumption of power is also increasing dramatically,and power issues are extremely urgent.In order to solve the problem of human society's power demand,various countries have begun to explore and research non-polluting,widely distributed,and large reserves of wave power,and developed corresponding wave power generation devices for wave power.With the continuous advancement of wave power generation technology,its application range has become more and more extensive.Ocean buoy's small wave power generation device is one of applications.At present,the main power source for ocean buoy comes from solar power.However,solar power,as the only power source,has some defects,such as continuous rainy days which can affect power generation efficiency.Therefore,it has been proposed to install wave power generation device on ocean buoy to use wave power as a supplemental power source for ocean buoy.This will solve some problems of single solar power.In this paper,the following research was carried out on the hydrodynamics of a buoy with inertial pendulum wave power generation device.1)A physical model for the inertial pendulum wave power generation system based on ocean buoy was made,and a model test in wave flume was performed and the experimental data was analyzed.2)The AQWA-LINE in the ANSYS AQWA software based on the 3D potential theory,used to calculate the added mass,radiation damping coefficients and wave exciting forces acting on the buoy when exposed to regular harmonic waves in the frequency domain.3)Based on the results from AQWA-LINE,the AQWA-NAUT was used to simulate the real-time motions of the buoy and the inertial pendulum in regular waves under different wave period for the case of without power take-off damping,and the simulated results were compared with the experimental results,and the numerical results agree well with the experimental data.4)Based on the correct verification of the numerical simulation,the wave powerconversion efficiency for the buoy mode with inertial pendulum at natural periods was analyzed,and the wave power conversion efficiency with power take-off damping was obtained.5)The influence of pendulum length,the position of ballast ring as well as the wave direction on the pitch motions of the buoy and pendulum,relative pendulum oscillation as well as the wave energy conversion efficiency were discussed.It provides a reference for the real-type construction of the wave energy conversion system based on ocean buoy.
