We consume the limited natural gas,coal,oil energy on the earth,which are non-renewable every day.In terms of the increasingly rapid energy crisis and the environmental contamination caused by the combustion of fossil fuels,further improvements of the effective conversion of solar energy into electricity are especially needed for industrialized lower cost large-scale manufacturing.The inorganic solar cells,has relatively satisfied performance,but its popularize is limited by the cumbersome process and high manufacture cost.Polymer solar cells(PSCs)have been a popular research topic due to the motivation for renewable and green energy source,which are light weight and compatibility with roll-to-roll processing.The utilization of quantum dots(QDs)is one of the key methods to improve the performance of PSCs.In this communication,we introduced different kinds of QDs,possessing the nanocore-shell structure into the active layer of inverted PSCs based on bulk heterojunction(BHJ)with poly [N-9?-hepta-decanyl-2,7-carbazolealt-5,5-(4?,7?-di-2-thienyl-2?,1?,3?-ben-zothiadiazole)](PCDTBT)as an electron donor and fullerene derivative [6,6]-phenyl-C70-butyric acid methyl ester(PC71BM)as an electron acceptor.(1)Aiming at higher open circuit voltage,the performance of PSCs is improved by imploying CdSe QDs into active layer.The incorporation of QDs effectively tuned the energy levels and enhanced exciton generation and dissociation,and thus,enhancement of Voc,Jsc and FF can be obtained in highly efficient i-PSCs.(2)We achieved positive effects due to the incorporation of environmental friendly CuI/ZnS QDs to BHJ based on a inverted structure of ITO/TiO2/BHJ:QDs/MoO3/Ag photovoltaics cells,cadmium selenide(CdSe)QDs were blended into BHJ blends to form an assembling ternary cascade structure with various amounts and finally enhanced Jsc,and fill factor(FF)simultaneously,simultaneously improve the cells performance.Our study demonstrates that c QDs could play a positive role in the improving PSCs performance.And we believe that our research offers a promise way to enhance the efficiency of device.
