Bird Resources And Ecological Value In MingXi County

Mingxi County is located in the northwestern part of Fujian Province.It is under the jurisdiction of Sanming City.The Junzifeng National Nature Reserve is on its territory.In recent years,ecotourism,which bird watching as the main form,has developed rapidly in Mingxi County,but the basic data of bird resources is lacking.Therefore,this paper intends to study the status of bird resources in Mingxi County,focusing on the ecological value of bird resources,to provide basic data for the development of ecotourism in Mingxi County and the management of Junzifeng Nature Reserve.The study of bird resources is divided into three parts,the analysis of bird resources diversity,birds' sightworthiness value and the evaluation of ecological value;there are the research results:1.The analysis of bird resource diversity:A total of 196 species of birds(including interviews)were surveyed in Mingxi County,belonging to 20 orders and 59 families.From the perspective of ecological groups,it is mainly based on songbirds;from the perspective of residence type,it is mainly resident birds;the dominance index of Chestnut Bulbul(Hemixos castanonotus),Huet's Fulvetta(Alcippe hueti)and ash Grey Treepie(Dendrocitta formosae)is much higher than other species.They are typical dominant species.In the five study areas of Mingxi County(Ziyun,Xiafang,Wanwan,Zhongxi,and Chengjiao),Ziyun recorded 131species of birds,it isthe largest number of birds in the five study areas,ZhongXi recorded 73 species of birds,it is the shortest number of birds in the five study areas.A total of 101 species of breeding birds were recorded in Mingxi County,belonging to 14 orders and 40 families.There are no diffidence on birds resources in three years.In the survey months,94 species of birds and 1977 birds were investigated in May;77 species of birds and 1,574 birds were investigated in June;regardless of number or species,May is higher than June.In Mingxi County,we investigates 3 specise of the key protected birds of national level ?,there are Elliot's Pheasant(Tragopan caboti),Cabot's Tragopan(Syrmaticus ellioti)and Oriental Stork(Ciconia boyciana),among which Cabot's Tragopan was stable in the local area.A large number of species have attracted many bird lovers to film and observe.There are 28 species of national Grade ? protected birds,of which Silver Pheasant(Lophura nycthemera),White-necklaced Partridge(Arborophila gingica),Mandarin Duck(Aix galericulata)and Black Baza(Aviceda leuphotes)are widely distributed in Mingxi and have a large population.The birds in Mingxi are rich and diverse,and rare birds and star birds have great attraction and are suitable for bird watching and bird watching.2.Birds' sightworthiness value in Mingxi County:The top ten of the total scores of bird resources ornamental evaluation in Mingxi County are Cabot's Tragopan(Tragopan caboti),Elliot's Pheasant(Syrmaticus ellioti),Silver Pheasant(Lophura nycthemera),Mandarin Duck(Aix galericulata),Crested Serpent Eagle(Spilornis cheela,Oriental Dollarbird(Eurystomus orientalis),and Common Pheasant(Phasianus colchicus),Blue-throated Bee-eater(Merops viridis),Black Eagle(Ictinaetus malaiensis),Mountain Scops Owl(Otus spilocephalus).Among them,Blue-throated Bee-eater and the Oriental Dollarbird are migratory birds,and the rest are resident birds.Among the 10 species of birds,there are 9 species of Ziyun;6 species in Xiafang,Zhongxi and Chengjiao;and 5 species in Wannei.The "Star Bird" s sightworthiness in Mingxi County is highly rated.Therefore,when constructing a bird ecological photography base,the sightworthiness value of birds should be considered.3.Contingent Valuation Method is used to evaluate the ecological value of bird resources.More than half of the people have the willingness to pay;the ecological value(V)of bird resources in Mingxi County is 5,796,657.43 yuan.There is a positive correlation between willingness to pay and annual income and attention to bird resources,regardless of age,gender,and educational level.The willingness to investigate the real attitudes to ecological protection in the protected areas and the actual impacts of ecological protection on them can provide suggestions for the management of protected areas.Our investigation work and related research are still in progress.We hope that through our continuous efforts,we can provide relatively complete basic research data for local bird resource conservation,and pro'vide an effective reference for further ecological protection and ecotourism.
