The Yangtze River Delta plays an important strategic role in promoting China’s economic growth.However,with the rapid development of industrial enterprises,great pressure has been placed on the ecological environment.How to protect ecological resources while improving economic benefits is a problem that the sustainable development of industry in the Yangtze River Delta region faces.Based on the theory of sustainable development and the perspective of industrial ecological efficiency in the Yangtze River Delta,this paper first discusses the current situation of industrial development in the Yangtze River Delta,puts forward the current ecological environment problems faced by industrial development in the Yangtze River Delta,and selects data from 2008 to 2017 to construct an evaluation index system of industrial ecological efficiency.In the next place,based on the unexpected output SBM-Undesirable model,the industrial ecological efficiency in the Yangtze River Delta is measured from a static angle,and based on Malmquist productivity index,the industrial ecological efficiency in the Yangtze River Delta is measured from a dynamic angle,and the industrial ecological total factor productivity index is further decomposed into technical efficiency change index and technical progress index to explore the driving mechanism behind the industrial ecological efficiency in the Yangtze River Delta.The results show that:(1)the present situation of industrial ecology development in Yangtze River Delta has three characteristics:first,the level of industrial economy development is continuously improving;Second,Gross industrial output value above scale is on the rise and its industrial scale is gradually expanding.Third,industrial energy consumption is large,the total amount of "three wastes" is high,and the ecological environment is facing great challenges.(2)the industrial ecological efficiency in the Yangtze river delta region was 0.74 in 2008-2017.the value of industrial ecological efficiency decreased year by year during the sample period,and there were significant regional differences.the ranking of efficiency values was Shanghai>Jiangsu>Zhejiang.(3)the Malmquist index of industrial ecology in the Yangtze River Delta region showed an overall trend of rising first and then declining.It showed a significant decline from 2015 to 2016.The overall technical efficiency variation index maintained a relatively high growth rate,which promoted the improvement of industrial ecological efficiency and caused the decline of industrial ecological efficiency due to technological retrogression.From the perspective of comprehensive technical efficiency,pure technical efficiency variation and scale efficiency variation,the average annual growth rate is 0.7%and 0.3%respectively,which shows that the overall industrial management level,technical application and scale expansion form a win-win situation.(4)shanghai’s technological progress index is on the rise year by year.Technological progress has promoted the industrial ecological efficiency of Shanghai.Malmquist Index in Jiangsu Province declined by 0.7%annually,and technological retrogression hindered the development of ecological efficiency.In Zhejiang Province,the average annual growth rate of industrial eco-efficiency declined the most,and the index of technological efficiency variation and index of technological progress showed negative growth in most years.Finally,through the improved grey correlation model,the paper analyzes the factors affecting the industrial ecological efficiency in the Yangtze River Delta.From the results,it can be seen that:(1)the increase in per capita GDP,technological progress and the improvement in the level of external development have promoted the improvement of industrial ecological efficiency;(2)the increase in urban population,the increase in government financial expenditure,the increase in coal consumption and the industrial structure dominated by the secondary industry have not played a positive role in the industrial ecological efficiency in the Yangtze River Delta.Figure[16]table[10]reference[72]...
