Based on 11 immobile elements in the weathering process,the geochemical genes can be used to trace the products in the weathering process.Similarity of gene is used to characterize the similarity of geochemical lithogenes in different samples.In this paper,four different scale samples of granite rocks,weathering profiles of granite from rock to soil,surface soil profiles and 1:200,000 regional geochemical exploration drainage system in Taishan Temple area of Western Henan Province were selected for preliminary testing and application of geochemical lithogenes.Rock samples from Taishan Temple granite have similar geochemical lithogenes,For granite samples with similar REE distribution curves,the similarity of geochemical genes is high.Based on the 65% similarity criterion,in the process of granite weathering,the litho-geochemical genes show good heredity from the bottom bedrock to the surface weathering soil,and good inheritance from the surface soil to the bottom bedrock samples.For surface soil profile samples which have been weathered,transported and migrated,65% is selected as the reliability of genetic similarity.Each sample has similar geochemical genes,which can be used to trace the source of soil samples.Sediment samples of 1:200,000 regional geochemical exploration drainage system show good similarity to geochemical genes,and when the reliability of genetic similarity is 65%,Source tracing was carried out using lithological and geochemical genes of sediment samples.These results indicate that geochemical genes in weathering products from rocks to residual slope soils to stream sediments exhibit stable heredity,inheritance and similarity.Using the geochemical lithogene,the samples of weathering products can be traced and the possible source of samples can be inferred.
