Trenchless is a construction technique for underground pipeline installation,displacement,and rehabilitation without excavation or less excavation of the surface.In recent years,with the continuous development of trenchless technology,its application range has been expanding,and the Chinese trenchless market is also booming.Horizontal Directional Drilling(HDD)is the most popular trenchless method.In the past two years,the annual sales volume of rigs in China has remained above 3,600,and the number of rigs has reached nearly 20,000.Incompatible with the trenchless market in China,which is getting better and better,the technical level of trenchless practitioners is uneven,lack of operational training,and the simple and inefficient of trenchless professional training institutions and related university teaching methods.Therefore,in order to enrich the teaching methods of trenchless and improve the technical level of practitioners,this paper proposes a HDD virtual reality training system based on the DDW-35/12 model HDD rig and the virtual reality technology.This paper first introduces HDD technology and virtual reality technology,as the technical basis of system development,and introduces the current mainstream teaching training theory as the theoretical basis for training system development.Secondly,it summarizes the current research status of trenchless training systems at home and abroad,including multimedia training systems,rig simulators,and virtual reality training systems.Based on the existing problems of the current trenchless industry,this paper analyzes the requirements of the HDD virtual reality training system,and designs the overall structure of the system and the UI interface framework according to the requirements,thus determining the hardware platform,operating system,modeling software and game engine for developing the HDD training system.Based on the software used in the development,this paper studies the physical effect simulation technology,multi-camera follow-up technology and dynamic generation of underground drill pipe technology.In addition,the operation rules of DDW35/12 model drilling rigs are sorted out,and the logical relationship of drilling rigs is summarized according to the physical collision relationship in actual construction,thus realizing the functions of training system angle switching,multi-angle display,simulation operation and parameter visualization.Finally,Unity3 D is used as the main development software.According to the overall structure of the system and the UI interface framework,a training system with basic teaching functions is implemented,and the system is released to the PC platform.Then,the system performance is analyzed and optimized.Through the user test,it proves that the training system runs smoothly,the operation interface is simple and practical,and has basic rig operation training functions.
