Effectiveness Evaluation Of University Construction Based On Grey Target Theory

Continued development of China's society has given an added boost to its higher education,and also set out a new requirement for its future development.Against this backdrop,“Double World-class Project” was put forward to evaluate the effectiveness of educational construction.In response to the third-party evaluation of “Double World-class Project”,this research develops an evaluation index system for construction effectiveness of China's universities and relevant evaluation approaches with typical Chinese characteristics.In terms of talents cultivation,scientific research,and internationalization,more than 30 indicators are selected to construct the evaluation index system in this research.R and UCINET are used to carry out cluster analysis and social network analysis on diciplines construction.The former one shows humanities and social sciences as well as engineering disciplines tend to be dominant disciplines.The latter one unveils that a close interconnection has been built between different subjects with computer science and technology as basis,but that the overall disciplinary network density is low.Based on the complex system characteristics of the education system,this paper selects the grey target model to achieve the evaluation.According to the existing index data characteristics,the static grey target model and the dynamic grey target model are evaluated respectively.Firstly,the static indicator model is established by using the full indicator system,and the current target degree of each university is output,and the rating of each university is determined.Furthermore,the time series is added on the basis of the two-dimensional traditional grey target model to realize the dynamic grey target analysis combining the degree of index difference and the degree of index growth.The colleges and universities are modeled according to the characteristics of the subject,and finally the degree of difference of the indicators is output.Target degree,index growth degree,and overall target degree.The evaluation results of the grey target model show that:(1)42 world-class university construction results.The static grey target model has a target range of[0.3474,0.8000],which can be divided into 5 levels according to the principle of equal division.(2)The dynamic grey target model only considers the target degree of index difference to maintain a stable advantage with Peking University,Tsinghua University,Zhejiang University and Shanghai Jiaotong University,and only considers the target degree of index growth.The first type of university fluctuates greatly,the second category.The growth of Tsinghua University,University of Electronic Science and Technology and Northwestern Polytechnical University is relatively stable and leading.(3)This model innovatively introduces the degree of index growth,which is more prominent than the traditional construction evaluation model.
