Particulate matter is a system composed of a large number of discrete solid particles, and these solids maintain direct physical interactions for most of the time. Not only is it closely related to human beings in life, but also plays an important role in industry. For example, sand, gravel, ice floes, and snow in nature;grain, coal, ore, building materials, medicines, salt, sugar, and grains in industrial and agricultural production are all particulate matter.Particulate matter is considered a "fourth state substance" and is a special form of matter.Physical properties are similar to solids and liquids, but tend to exhibit more mechanical properties than ordinary solids and liquids. In recent years, particulate matter has become the frontier of physics and mechanics, and the attention of the majority of scholars caused by physical mechanisms and mechanical properties. There are a lot of questions about particulate matter that still need to be studied. The singer is in the forefront. After the smashing, the gravel is behind. This sentence is a description of the ancients' stratification of the mixture of grain, gravel and straw. The stratification of the particulate matter is the aggregation of the particles of different physical properties in different spaces under the action of the vibrating container. There are many mechanisms for the stratification of mixed particles, and they are not attributed to the same. They are recognized by many scholars for geometric fill-in,convection,arching,and agglomeration. There are many factors affecting particle stratification, such as excitation force(frequency, acceleration, amplitude),the nature of the particle itself(particle shape, size, material, humidity, etc.),the pressure inside the vibrating vessel, the thickness of the particle layer and the vibration.Container(material, geometric parameters),etc. The stratification of the particles is caused by vibration, and the vibration mode(vertical or horizontal vibration)and conditions play a decisive role in the stratification behavior. At present, most of the particle stratification studies focus on vertical vibration, and the study of horizontal vibration requires further research. In this paper, the three-dimensional discrete element method is used to study the stratified behavior of mixed particles under three different boundary conditions under horizontal linear vibration with EDEM as the research tool. The dynamic behavior and delamination mechanism of the particles were analyzed from the microscopic level by simulating the stratification process of the particles under different boundary conditions. It is found that the trapping effect of the trapezoidal trough facing the particles makes the particle flow form the main driving force for the stratification;in the mixed particles with the convex rectangular trough, the Brazilian fruit stratification also occurs under the horizontal vibration, but The effect of delamination will be weakened. As the vibration intensity increases, the effect of the bulge will be weakened.Under the combined condition, when the energy input to the particle system is small, the bulge plays a decisive role, but the stratification effect is poor. When the energy of the particle system is larger, the throwing action of the inclined surface plays a decisive role, and the layering effect is better. Finally, the layering effect under combined conditions was verified by experiments. The work done in this paper provides a useful reference for understanding the stratification behavior of particulate matter under horizontal linear vibration and perfecting the theory of particulate matter dynamics, and provides a certain guiding role.
