Objective:For the public with the need to reduce fat, aerobic exercise is a highly efficient approach for fat burning. The concept of Fatmax provides a theoretical basis for further improving the fat-reducing efficiency through aerobic exercises.VO2max is the main method to determine Fatmax. In laboratories,VO2max is in generalmeasured directly by gas analyzers. But since this is a polaris test and cost much,it is not appropriate to be applied to the general public. Therefore, the purpose of thisstudy aims at exploring whether a new test method of Fatmax could be realized, through measuring muscle oxygen metabolism parameters of the persons tested during aerobic exercises by near infrared spectroscopy?NIRS?.Methods:23 healthy males, with an average age of 22.56±1.73 and a body fat rate in the range of 10%20%,were selected. All of them participated in a treadmill increasing load test.In the course of the exercises, the skeletal muscle oxygen content of the person was monitored in real time by NIRS.The variations of the skeletalmuscle oxygen content and the oxygen intake were fitted by curves, and thecorrelation between VO2max and Deff was analyzed,so as to research the changes of skeletal muscle oxygen content during the exercises of Fatmax.Results:1?in the increasing load exercises, with increases of movement intensity, the fat oxidation rate of the person tested will exhibit increase first then decrease. The maximum fat oxidation rate of a healthy young male generally appears in the range of30%50%VO2max.2?The skeletal muscle oxygen content of healthy young men in a quiet state is 1.76±0.85?mol/L.At the end of exercises,in general,it will drop to-9.81±3.23?mol/L.After the exercises, the skeletal muscle oxygen content will restore to the level before exercises, even to exceeding compensation.3?Linear-regression analysis was made between VO2max and Deff.Correlation coefficient is 0.74,p<0.01,linear equation is VO2=27.253+1.211*Deff.Linear-regression analysis was made between VCO2 and Deff,Correlation coefficient is 0.811,p<0.01,linear equation is VCO2=1855.331+93.914*Deff.Conclusion:The above results indicate that:1?The maximum fat oxidation rate of a healthy young male generally appears in the range of 30%50%VO2max.2?The decrease of Deff is related to the intensity of exercises as well as VO2max of the person tested,Correlation coefficient is 0.74.3?Through the testing of Deff of the aerobic exercise,VO2max and carbon dioxide emissions could be calculated by the formula,so Fatmax could be calculated.
