Based on the tectonics and sandstone type uranium deposits metallogenic theory as the instruction, through the field investigation methods of satellite remote sensing image interpretation, the measured profile of the southern margin of Ili basin, southern and northern boundary fault basin fracture system and discussed the fold structure, build the southern margin of Ili basin, tectonic activity area middle-late Cenozoic tectonic framework, analyzes the structure of the influence of the groundwater migration and control function, structure and uranium mineralization is further discussed in this paper, the relationship between the main achievements The influence of structure on groundwater dynamic system during mineralization, and the relationship between structure and uranium mineralization are discussed.Achievements are following:(1)Several faults in Ili basin have been identified and their spatial distribution and kinematic characteristics were investigated.Combined with the fold deformation and structural features of Mesozoic sedimentary strata. It is considered that the northern edge boundary fault of Ili basin is an active fault with right strike-slip component and the south edge boundary fault is an active fault with left running slip component, and the south-north fault system in the south of the basin is mainly normal fault.(2)Concept of tectonic transformation, explained the formation mechanism of active normal fault in the southern part of the late Cenozoic Ili basin. In the late Cenozoic, the left-lateral compressional torsional activity of the southern margin fault of the basin was transformed into a normal fault in the south near the south and north of the basin.(3)The tectonic framework of Ili basin since the middle and late Cenozoic has been constructed,According to the identification of the northern edge of the basin, the boundary fault is an active fault with a right slip component and the south edge boundary fault is an active fault with left slip component.Ili basin is affected and controlled by two boundary faults,The Ili basin is experiencing a relatively westward lateral extrusion.(4)The relationship between spatial combination of normal fault and reverse fault and groundwater migration is discussed. It is concluded that the deformation of the water-blocking normal fault of the reverse fault has a special effect on groundwater migration and controls the mineralization of sandstone type uranium ore in the study area.(5)Late Miocene to Quaternary,Ili basin is a strike-slip basin. The large scale fold deformation in the southern margin of Ili basin is basically formed, and the slope belt is formed, and the transformation into a nearly north-south stretch deformation.Uranium-bearing groundwater from the chabchal mountain can be easily and stably entered into Jurassic sandstone, and It is favorable for mineralization. Therefore, the main metallogenic period in the southern margin of Ili basin is the geological historical period.
