Change of mechanical properties of artery is the initial reason of lots of cardiovascular disease.As in vitro properties have been studied thoroughly,in vivo situations,especially regulation of nervous system on mechanical properties of artery has not been studied.The paper introduced pressure wave as an intermediary study object,measured the change of pressure wave and vessel diameter under different neural state through animal experiment.The paper used downstream pressure waveform and period rate to synchronize pressure waves and then analyzed the waveform,propagation,and augmentation of pressure wave and secondary wave gained through Gaussian function fitting method to learn how pressure wave affected by nervous system.After that,the paper used both arterial compliance and Moens-Korteweg function to reflect the change of pressure wave to the change of arterial mechanical properties,so consequently we got data of arterial mechanical properties regulated by nervous system.Finally,based on the experiment,the paper discussed how nervous system regulates arterial mechanical properties.Our study found that nervous system regulates arterial mechanical properties directly.Some physiology conclusions only hold true without nervous regulation.Nervous system regulates pressure wave by affects its waveform characters instead of affects its propagation characters and by affects reflected waves instead of forward pressure waves.As for arterial mechanical properties,nervous system changes the elasticity of points instead of segment.These findings suggest that the regulation nervous system acts on arterial mechanical properties is non-ignorable.Treat artery as an elastic pipe simply when study physical problems has great limitations.
