In recent years,the civil aviation transportation industry has experienced rapid development due to the steady growth of the economy.The civil aviation transportation industry has also faced tremendous challenges because of the gradual increase in flight volume and the continuous expansion of transportation demand.The airport is the critical point of the aircraft operations as it is responsible for aircraft taking off and landing.However,the complex structure of the airspace over the airport,the variety of operational restrictions,and the complex and varied meteorological conditions make the airport play a key role of improving the service quality of the entire civil aviation transportation system.The capacity of major busy airports could be enhanced through reconstruction and expansion,however,such projects may face the dilemma of large investment and long term.Therefore,the study of the aircraft sequencing and scheduling model,and the research on scientific and efficient optimization algorithms have become the main topic of improving the overall efficiency of the airport operations to determine the sequence and time for the taking off and landing.Firstly,the current situation of the arrival and departure sequencing and scheduling problem has been summarized by combing the existing literature at domestic and abroad.Secondly,the aircraft sequencing problem is treated as the machine scheduling problem based on the existing research foundations.The dispatching rules have been introduced into the aircraft sequencing and scheduling problem based on the knowledge in the machine scheduling field.Thirdly,for the arrival sequencing problem,a two-stage optimization method based on composite dispatching rules is proposed.Subsequently,regarding departure,the continuous flight sequencing model has been established for the particularity of the departure sequencing,and the corresponding composite dispatching rule has been presented.Finally,for the arrival and departure scheduling problem,a new meta-heuristic algorithm has been developed by the combination of the dispatching rule and simulated annealing algorithm.Compared with the previous research,the contribution of this paper is that it successfully brought forward and applied the dispatching rules and meta-heuristic algorithm to efficiently and effectively solve the aircraft sequencing and scheduling problem.
