3D inward turning inlet is a special hypersonic inlet type which caused extensive concentration recently.Compared with the other traditional types of inlet,the trait of 3D inward turning inlet is the excellent flow capture capability,the inlet can achieve full flow capture in the design point.But the big contraction ratio and the weak overflow capacity lead to the starting problem at low Mach number and the low back pressure resistance.In this paper,the design methodology of inlet with wide operation range was studied.Firstly,the program to design 3D inward turning inlet was completed,the influence of the typical geometric parameters(include leading edge and center body radius)on the basic flow field aerodynamic performance was summarized.Secondly,the influence of different characteristic parameters of different capture lines on the aerodynamic performance of 3D inward turning inlet was studied.For rectanglar,elliptical,and sectorial streamlinetraced inlet,3D numerical simulation analyze the influence of characteristic parameters(include lenth-width ratio,axial ratio and central angle)on the inward turning inlet aerodynamic performance,the results show that when the capture area remain unchanged,inlet overall configuration in the form of relatively flat and shorter length of external pressure section has better compression efficiency and flow capture capability for a certain capture line.Thirdly,based on the results of the viscous numerical simulation,selecting capture line with better flow capture capability and designing variable geometry inlet.The aerodynamic performance of different type capture line inlets were compared.The results show that rectangular inward turning inlet have better flow capture capability under the ramjet mode and turbine mode,while the gap of the total pressure recovery coefficient and the capture exit Mach number with the other two capture inward turning inlet is not big.Finally,based on rectangular inward turning inlet,a rectangular inward turning inlet combined dynamic with a viscous effect is designed.The results of 3D viscous calculation show that on the promise of making sure flow capture capability of scramjet channel,the inlet flow can work normally in ramjet mode,turbine mode and excessive mode and the flow coefficient meets the demand.
