With the increasing degree of oil and gas exploration in the world, the structure like simple, shallow buried, medium or larger structural traps have been running out,it is difficult to find medium-scale traps of oil and gas reservoirs. The difficulty of finding new oil and gas reservoirs is undoubtedly higher and higher, the entire exploration situation is very severe. In recent years, lithologic stratigraphic oil and gas reservoirs have become an important area of exploration for large-scale reservoirs. The Karavanchy block in the Southern Tulgay Basin, after several years of exploration and development, the area is now with a high water content and fast decline in production. What's more, undiscovered traps are fewer and fewer. Therefore, based on the research results of lithology stratigraphic traps at home and abroad, this paper has carried out the comprehensive research on the lithologic stratigraphic traps in this area.Firstly, the log information in the work area is analyzed and corrected, and then the quality of the seismic data is analyzed.Secondly, the corrected seismic data and log curves are used to explain the structures. The sedimentary strata of the Karavanchy area are studied, and the spatial distribution and evolution of the sedimentary system and the stratum distribution characteristics of the sedimentary stratum are emphatically analyzed. Finally,by the post-stack seismic reservoir prediction technique(seismic attribute analysis technique and sparse pulse inversion technique),the sandbodies of the target layer are predicted and characterized.Through comparison with the geological data, such as oil test and drilling,it is found that the prediction effect of the sandbodies is better, and the target is optimized.
