Since ancient times,Hebei has been a serious drought area with high frequency and serious damage.This paper introduces the knowledge about drought monitoring and soil relative humidity,and summarizes the research status of drought monitoring methods based on vegetation index at home and abroad.This research takes Hebei Province as the study area,using MODIS surface reflectance data of 2001-2010,the extraction of vegetation condition index(VCI)data,the establishment of remote sensing drought monitoring model in Hebei area,Hebei province area drought monitoring method based on MODIS data,and to evaluate the application of this method in Hebei area.Specifically,the main work of this study is as follows:(1)to preprocess MODIS data and soil relative humidity(R)data,reduce the interference factors and make the data reach the applicable level.(2)the VCI data are calculated.Through MODIS data,the first and second bands are calculated to get NDVI.Then,the difference between the maximum value and the minimum value of a historical NDVI is VCI based on the difference between the NDVI value of a historical area and its NDVI minimum value in a study area.(3)a model of remote sensing drought monitoring is established.The VCI and R data are paired,the spatio-temporal data set is set up according to the ten day classification,the VCI-R data set is regressed and the VCI-R drought monitoring model is established.(4)according to the soil relative humidity drought grade standard and VCI-R regression model,the drought level standard of VCI is determined,that is,the grade standard of VCI drought in Hebei area.(5)verify the results of the study.In the typical historical period,the feasibility and reliability of the drought remote sensing monitoring model in Hebei are determined by comparison and analysis of the actual drought situation and the research results.(6)formation of remote sensing drought monitoring system in Hebei area.Using the C# programming language,the relevant data processing system is constructed by the way of the bottom development,and the drought condition in Hebei area is monitored by remote sensing.It lays the foundation for the operational operation of remote sensing drought monitoring in Hebei.The results show that the VCI index can better indicate the drought in Hebei area.This study will make Hebei's drought monitoring and monitoring business go to a new level,and better monitor the drought in this area and reduce the losses caused by drought.
