Frege is a great man both in logic and philosophy. After a lot of analysis and in-depth study of natural language,he found the defects of natural language. This kind of defect will undoubtedly bring some troubles to the analysis of sentences. Therefore,he put forward his Theory of Concept logically by using his mathematical knowledge and combining the ideas of function and argument in mathematics. He abandoned the previous way of analyzing the subject and predicate structure of sentences, and used concepts and objects to analyze the sentence structure, thus avoiding the interference of natural language in the process of sentence analysis.Frege’s concept is a function, which has the properties of incompleteness and unsaturation. At the same time, the function value of the concept is a truth-value.Using different natures of arguments to supply concepts, different types of concepts can be obtained. Therefore, the concept can be divided into the first-level concepts and the second-level concepts. The argument of the first-level concept is the object, and the argument of the second-level concept is the concept.Concepts and objects are different, and the differences are mainly reflect in the natures and the form of expressions. For the relationship between concepts and concepts,Frege mainly divides the concepts into two aspects from the level of concepts. The relationship between concepts at the same level is that one concept belongs to another;the relationship between concepts at different levels is that one concept is under another higher concept.Frege’s Theory of Concept has an important influence on modern logic and analytic philosophy. On the one hand,Frege’s Theory of Concept breaks the previous analytical model of traditional logic and promotes the emergence of modern logic;on the other hand,Frege’s Theory of Concept provides a new logical analysis method for analytic philosophy and promotes the linguistic turn, thus laying a foundation for the emergence of analytic philosophy.
